From Vanderbilt's track team to Broward's courtrooms.

Vanessa graduated with honors from Vanderbilt University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science and served as captain of the Track and Field team. The discipline of competing at the NCAA level — and the responsibility of leading a team — became the foundation for the way she practices law.

She earned her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law, was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2008, and joined the firm the same year. She has been here ever since.

Vanessa is Florida Bar Board Certified as a Civil Trial Specialist — a credential held by approximately 1% of Florida lawyers. The certification requires substantial trial experience, a rigorous written exam, peer review, and ongoing recertification every five years. Board certification is not a marketing claim. It is, in effect, what board certification is to a doctor: a public statement of demonstrated specialized competence.

She is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, an invitation-only organization whose members are charged with elevating the standards of integrity, civility, and courtesy in the practice of law.

Vanessa has tried more than 100 cases to verdict. Most personal injury cases settle. The ones that don't — the ones where the insurance company decides to take its chances at trial — are exactly the ones a board-certified trial lawyer is built for.
