What makes truck cases different

Trucking is regulated by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Hours-of-service rules, driver qualification files, vehicle maintenance records, electronic logging device data, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing are all governed by federal regulation. Evidence in these cases must be preserved quickly — we send a litigation hold letter on day one.

Who can be liable

A truck collision often involves more than just the driver. Potential defendants include the trucking company (vicarious liability and negligent hiring), the broker, the shipper, the maintenance contractor, and parts manufacturers. Identifying every responsible party is what often determines whether a case has the insurance coverage to make recovery meaningful.
